The traditional guild hike is coming again! This year we will pack our backpacks and travel to the northeast, to Patvinsuo, the pearl of North Karelia! The trip coincides with perhaps the most beautiful time of the year, when we can admire the colours of the fall. There is no need to advertise this any further, as it is a once-in-a-lifetime event. The trip will take place between Thu 21.9 and Sun 24.9, so work pressures will no longer weigh on the minds of hikers. And best of all, the whole package only costs the participant the price of a cheap bicycle helmet. All this is possible thanks to our generous sponsor! UPM Energy has graciously stepped up to support our trip and without them this would not be possible.
The trip is suitable for all levels, from experienced hikers to beginners, and is a great opportunity for beginners in particular to experience some of Finland’s finest hiking in good company. Please note, however, that this is not an accessible event and requires good basic fitness and mental stamina, as the day’s transitions can be strenuous. However, the hiking groups will be divided according to the hiker’s wishes and ability, so there is a group for every hiker. There is a choice of shorter and longer routes, from which you can choose the one that suits you best, depending on your preferences! At the end of the hike, you’ll be rewarded with a spa treatment, so you can return home in a refreshing mood.
To prepare for the hike, we will distribute a solid information pack for hikers, and you can always ask the organisers any (hiking-related) questions and we will answer as best we can!
Departure from Otaniemi early Thursday morning and return Sunday afternoon.
